Tabor Electronics Unveils Latest Stand-alone 4-Channel Wideband Amplifier – Model 9400

Tel-Hanan, Israel, January 2006 – Tabor Electronics recently introduced a new addition to its wideband power amplifier line – Model 9400.

Designed as a general purpose, stand-alone unit, Model 9400 is a 4-channel wideband high voltage amplifier in a small, space-and cost-saving package featuring outstanding bandwidth and signal integrity.

The 9400 has two modes of operation. The first, "Normal", amplifies each signal separately and outputs bipolar signals with a gain of x50. The second mode, "Unipolar", applies the signal to a single input, rectified, amplified and output through two separate outputs. Using this mode, the amplifier is converted to a two-input, four-output system, specifically designed to operate the up/down and right/left actuators of a typical MEMS micro engine, as well as for other applications requiring the precise conversion of bipolar to unipolar signals.

The compact, cost-effective Model 9400 offers the following features:

  • Four independent channels

  • -200 to +200 V (400 Vp-p) with up to 50 mA output current

  • Full power bandwidth from DC to 500 kHz

  • Precise signal amplification for multiple applications

  • Compatibility with all Tabor arbitrary waveform generators

  • Protective latch for instant disconnect of high voltage power from output terminals

  • Monitor Outputs for each channel dividing the main output signal by 100

  • Special "Unipolar" mode for MEMS engine drivers

According to Ron Glazer, Tabor’s Business Development Manager, “Model 9400's smart design will enable designers and manufacturers to conserve substantial bench space, while benefitting from high performance, reliability and the flexibility to adapt to a full spectrum of applications, especially where multi-channels are needed – and at a very competitive price.
