A basic understanding of the circuitry to ensure that the trainee will better understand the use of as well as the limitations of the device being used.

Contents

Basic circuits used in multimeters, analogue and digital.

Input impedance of meters and its importance.

Discussion of Analogue to digital conversion.

DC and AC measurement. Impedance measuring.

Use of meters as well as limitations of measurements possible. Following on from part one, discussions of measurements and understanding the results obtained.

Calibration of these units. What is the purpose of calibration. Understanding a calibration certificate.

Practical measurement session and questions.
